Technique 1: Vinegar, coffee grounds and soap

  • White vinegar
  • Coffee grounds
  • Degreasing soap
  • Mushroom
  • Small pot
  • Small vase
  • Spoon

Course of action

  1. First, heat two tbsp. vinegar up in a small saucepan, just a few seconds, until hot.
  2. Then add coffee grounds to the vase and pour the hot vinegar over.
  3. Mix until it is a smooth paste. The coffee grounds must have a little moisture to be able to clean the surface.
  4. Now take some of the mixture on the sponge and rub on the vase.
  5. Then rinse with warm water until the vinegar and coffee are completely gone.
  6. Then wash the vase with soap and  let it air dry.
  7. If you see streaks on the glass, you can wipe it with a clean, dry tea towel.

Technique 2: Rice and vinegar to clean glass vases

Another way to clean glass vases is with a mixture of rice, vinegar and descaling soap. This technique is good for vases with a small opening that you can not get your hand through.

Course of action

  1. First, put a handful of rice in the vase.
  2. Then cover it with warm water, cover the opening and shake the vase vigorously so that the rice releases its starch inside.
  3. When everything is evenly distributed, remove the water and rice.
  4. If the stains are not gone, fill the vase with a mixture of vinegar and water and leave it overnight.
  5. The next morning, remove the contents and wash the vase with descaling soap (especially if you live somewhere high in lime). Then wipe it with a clean cloth.

Technique 3: Acid-neutralizing tablets and warm water to clean glass vases

  • Hot water
  • Acid neutralizing tablets
  • Dishwashing liquid

Course of action

  1. First, fill the vase with warm water. However, it should not be boiling, because then the glass can explode.
  2. Then add the tablet and let it shower for about 30 minutes.
  3. When the 30 minutes have passed, empty the glass and wash it with a few drops of soap.
  4. Then dry it with a clean tea towel or paper towel.
  5. You will immediately see that the stains are gone.
