Generosity is not a bad thing. But when being generous leads to someone taking advantage of you, then that’s not so good.

You have realized that giving yourself to others does not make you happy and you do not get anything out of putting the needs of others above your own. Even if you do not believe it, it hurts deep down. Accept it.

  • If someone asks you for a service, take your time. Do not say “yes” right away, you do not have to. Wait and make sure you want to help and can do it.
  • Do you want to say “no”? Then say “no.” Accept that it is not good to do everything we are asked to do, especially if it goes against our values ​​and principles, or if we simply do not want to do it.
  • You’re not selfish. Love and respect yourself.
  • Put your guilt aside. You will feel a little guilty, but do not take it seriously. This feeling of guilt will try to lead you back to where you were.
  • Take care of yourself and give yourself time – do everything for yourself as you did for others. You are the most important, the highest priority. If you do not worry about yourself, who will?
